1972 Gillette Black Handle Super Speed w Case and Blades

1972 Gillette Super Speed TTO safety razor. The razor features a black handle,
and has a date code of P1. The razor is clean, with no brassing or plate loss.
It has absolutely NO wear on the top of the shaft and on the tops of the doors.
Both doors open and close smoothly and freely, the razor had been blade
tested with no issues found. Uses standard double edge safety razor blades
which can still be purchased in a variety of brands.
The TTO mechanism is ultra-smooth. This is an excellent piece. Please view
all the pictures as they are part of the description. The case is in MINT
condition with no breakage or scratching. Also included is a dispenser of
Gillette Super Stainless Steel Blades.
The Regular Super-Speed lived on until the mid-1970's, but starting in 1969
the handles were colored black. The black handle Super-Speed weighed in at
46g with a blade gap of .64mm. 1972 black handled gillette superspeed double
edge safety razor with twist to open mechanism is in excellent condition
and works great.
This great razor was the workhorse of vintage safety razors. Comfortable
and attractive. No wonder Gillette made this model for so many years. This
type is commonly called the "black handle". Date code of "S-2" indicates it
was made in the second quarter of 1972. According to the timelines Super
Speed production ended in 1974.
