1921 GILLETTE NEW STANDARD SHAVING KIT IN ORIGINAL BOX
This 1921 Gillette "NEW STANDARD" has been previously owned & used through the years since it's
manufacture. Being manufactured in 1921 this Gillette is at least 90 Years old.
For this razor to be 90 years old it still looks great, faint flaws & all. The flaws of this
Gillette are truly minor for a 90 Year old Razor. This "NEW STANDARD's" plating has withstood the
test of time gracefully with ALMOST NO signs of wear! The case is in great condition, the outside
being almost mint with just a small bit of wear that can be seen in the pictures.
The head shows small signs of wear, just a few tiny surface scratches & scuffs nothing too bad
at all. The underside of the head piece shows mimimal signs of wear. The teeth of the open tooth
comb blade guard have withstood the test of time wonderfully with no bends or breaks at all. All
original Gillette manufactured. Any signs of age only add to the character of a Vintage Razor!
It is a must have for a Gillette collector.
The New was supposed to be easier to clean, a bit more durable and lessen the chance of nicks
and cuts, perhaps by holding the blade more securely. The New Standard is a set with a New
Improved razor made from 1921-1928. In 1921 Gillette released the New Improved razor with the
heavier flat guard. Since the old Standard was now gone, one of the sets that came out was the
NEW STANDARD. It was one of the sets that replaced the Old Type razor developed in 1903.
